Last week, I signed the U.S. Term Limits Amendment Pledge. If elected to the United States Senate, I will cosponsor and vote for the Amendment which would limit U.S. House members to three terms, and U.S. Senate members to two terms.
If passed, this legislation would ensure that new people and new ideas are regularly flowing through Congress. This is one way we can ensure that lobbyist and special interest influence over laws and policymakers is appropriately scoped, and that The People are represented by a citizen legislature-not career politicians.
I challenge other state and federal Congressional candidates to sign this pledge. I ask each of you to give strong consideration to candidates’ demonstrated commitment to term limits in your voting calculus.
